Elk Hunts
Texas Elk Hunting
Texas elk hunts are typically more affordable, convenient, and successful than hunts in the elk’s remaining natural habitats in the Western U.S. and Canada.
Elk are highly coveted for their spectacular antlers, and elk venison is widely considered to be one of the most delectable of wild game meats and is lower in fat and higher in protein than beef and chicken. Bull elk can weigh up to 1,000 lbs and can attain heights of as much as 10 feet, including antlers, and trophy elk typically have Boone and Crockett scores of between 350 and 450.
At Stone Creek Hunting Ranch we take the elk hunting experience to a whole new level by providing you with the best shot opportunity percentage on a trophy elk. Combined with down-home Texas hospitality and 5-star quality amenities you won’t find at most other Texas hunting ranches, we’ll make sure you have a memorable experience.
We offer a variety of elk hunting methods including spot and stalk, safari style, and hunting from blinds for rifle, handgun, black powder, and bowhunters of all ages and skill levels. The good news is that there’s no specific closed Texas elk hunting season. Therefore, you can hunt them any time of the year.
Located in the gorgeous Texas Hill Country west of Waco, Stone Creek Hunting Ranch provides the ideal habitat for elk which have adapted well to the local topography and vegetation. Elk are technically considered a non-native game species, and therefore have no season in Texas, although rutting season typically runs from early September through early March.
Stone Creek Hunting Ranch boasts numerous elk of superior body weight and antler size, and our guides scout the ranch year-round to provide you with the best chance of a shot opportunity. In addition to our Texas Elk Hunts, we also offer antelope, aoudad, fallow deer, buffalo, and New Zealand red stag hunts.
